About the homework...
Students have homework Monday- Thursday. The homework usually includes the following:
* 20 Minutes of reading
* Math page
* Spelling homework for the day (see below for description)
* Sight word practice for the day
Remember it is VERY important for students to read EVERYDAY! Students in second grade must read 90 words per minute by the end of the year. In order to reach this goal I need your help at home.

Spelling Homework
MONDAY- Put the words in ABC order
TUESDAY - Write each word three times each
WEDNESDAY - Write a sentence with the first 7 words.
THURSDAY - Write a sentence with the next 8 words.
The spelling test takes place on FRIDAY. In addition to the spelling test every Friday, the students must write several sentences I dictate to them. These sentence contain the second grade sight words. The students must correctly spell the sight words and write complete sentences (capital letter at the beginning and appropriate punctuation mark at the end).
